Event #77 of the 2021 WSOP is the $1,500 FIFTY STACK No-Limit Hold’em. The FIFTY STACK sees players start with twice the usual starting stack for a $1,500 event (50,000 in chips rather than the usual 25,000). As a result, it gives lower stakes players a chance for some deep-stack play, and the room to maneuver that comes from that.
The $1,500 FIFTY STACK No-Limit Hold’em wrapped up on the same day as the Main Event. Surprising nobody, the $1.5k buy-in event didn’t receive quite as much attention as the biggest tourney in the WSOP, but it still made Paulo Joanello very happy.
With a field of 1,501 entries, the prize pool swelled to $2,003,835. $321,917 of that pool went to Joanello as the first-place finisher. Joanello won the event after a tense two-day run of deep-and-steep play.
This tourney began on November 16, and ran for two days. Players were able to rebuy just once on Day 1.
