The upcoming tournament will kick off next week and finds participation from G2, NiP and more

As part of the Ignition Series, WePlay! Esports is entering the Valorant scene, hosting its first invitational events with a $50,000 prize pool. Building up to the event, the first set of Open Qualifiers are scheduled for July 13 and, from there, WePlay! will cut down the list of teams to form a bracket with the top eight teams. The eSports organization already invited six rosters to this inaugural event; therefore, only two rosters from the open qualifiers will be selected.

The event will run from July 13 to July 19, and the eight-team bracket will begin competitions on July 15. So far, 128 teams have confirmed participation in the qualifiers, which will be played in a best-of-one format until the series gets to the final bracket.
That final bracket will be a traditional best-of-three format. The best two teams from the qualifiers will be joining the pre-selected list of rosters that includes teams from G2 Esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP). Other teams who received direct invitations were: fish123, forZe, Prodigy and PartyParrots.

Among those rosters, the one posing as the favorite to win is fish123, as the team has been competing in championships ever since the game was launched. However, it is not a sure win and teams like NiP or PartyParrots have a good level, too, and have also collected nice results at bigger events.

The open qualifiers are open for anyone located in the Europe/CIS region and there is still time to sign up. The playoffs will be played in the known Swiss bracket, with the grand finals scheduled for the last day of the series on July 19. The winning team will get $25,000 along with the first Ignition Series title.
