WSOP Event #87: High Roller No-Limit Hold’em

Event #87 of the 2021 WSOP is the $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em. This is one of only two six-figure events this year (not including rebuys). That’s a small number of Super High Roller events for the WSOP. It reflects a certain pessimism from the WSOP management regarding attendance levels. Even so, the event was scheduled to take a full three days.

The $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em came to a finish with Michael Addamo out in front. The 27-year-old Australian poker professional had an astounding run this year. He came into the 2021 WSOP with two bracelets already in his trophy case. He left again with two more.

Addamo crushed the high-roller events in 2021, one after another recently. This most recent win marks his sixth first-place finish in $10k+ events in the past two-and-a-half months. One of those victories handed him his third bracelet in the 2021 WSOP $50k High Roller 8-handed. He even eked out a $15k Aria win during the series.

This tourney began on November 21. Players started with 600,000 in chips, with blinds of 1,000/2,000. In 2019, Keith Tilston won $2.8 million for first place in this event.
