Series plays on partypoker US Network September 13-21

New Jersey poker players can look forward to yet another major tournament series in what's been an unprecedented year for online poker in the Garden State.

The latest New Jersey online poker festival comes in the form of the WPT Online Borgata Series powered by partypoker US Network. The series runs September 13-21 and guarantees more than $275,000 in prize money.

The tournament series can be accessed by New Jersey players via any of the skins in the partypoker US network. Those platforms include Borgata Poker, BetMGM, partypoker NJ, and Pala Poker.

The WPT Online Borgata Series features 11 events, culminating in the $1,060 Main Event. The two-day Main Event runs September 20-21, and the final table will be live-streamed by WPT.

New Jersey-only series guarantees more than $275,000

The 11 tournaments in the series carry a combined guaranteed prize pool of more than $275,000. The series kicks off September 13 with a $215 buy-in, $100,000 guaranteed event.

Other events across the nine-day series include a $535 Heads Up event September 19, in which a field capped at 32 players compete in heads-up matches. Progressive Knockout Bounty events also await New Jersey players on the WPT Online Borgata Series schedule.

The Main Event comes with a $1,060 direct buy-in on Day 2, but also runs as a phase tournament. Players can buy in to the Day 1 phases for $109, and surviving players advance to Day 2 with the chip stack they hold at the end of Day 1.

The series is only available in New Jersey, and players must be located within state borders while they play.

Big year for NJ online poker continues

The online poker economy in New Jersey continues to flourish in 2020. The 2020 WSOP Online Bracelet Events series offered 31 events to US players, with New Jersey players able to compete for a World Series of Poker bracelet on WSOP NJ and 888Poker NJ.

With the WSOP on tap, revenue produced by New Jersey online poker sites increased more than 155% in July 2020 versus July 2019. Another big New Jersey series just wrapped up as well, with the partypoker US Network Online Series running August 16-23.

The WPT Online Borgata Series marks the first time for the World Poker Tour and Borgata to run a dual-branded online festival in New Jersey.

"partypoker US Network continues to identify opportunities to provide the best online poker experience for our players. We are proud to expand our relationship with the World Poker Tour and provide players across New Jersey with another state-of-the-art offering,” said Director of Poker for partypoker US Network Ray Stefanelli in a press release. "The WPT Online Borgata Series combines the live prestige of the WPT and Borgata to the online poker community across the partypoker US Network."
