Poker fans now have a new option to choose from for top-quality content

Theta.tv is a blockchain-based video network that will be soon launching a new poker live channel that will stream content 24/7. This new channel comes from a recent deal with the World Poker Tour (WPT), so users can have immediate access to events like the WPT seasons eight to 16, or the King of the Club Season, among many others. That will be for now – when the world can run normally again after overcoming the coronavirus pandemic, the channel will also broadcast live poker events and tournament series taking place at the HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas.

This blockchain-powered broadcasting platform works differently than other popular streaming services. Theta.tv allows users to earn different amounts of the cryptocurrency TFUEL as a reward for sharing their bandwidth when watching content on the platform. “Theta Labs and WPT are innovators in our respective industries and this global partnership will provide our users with a new, ground-breaking way to watch the best-televised poker product in the world, all powered by our peer-to-peer Theta blockchain technology,” said Mitch Liu, Co-founder and CEO of Theta Labs. “We’re looking forward to deeper integration of the Theta Network within WPT.”

The WPT organization is also thrilled to integrate a partnership that brings a new way of taking advantage of the blockchain technology to the poker scene. “The World Poker Tour is excited to be featured on THETA.tv powered by the Blockchain, an innovator in the fast-growing video streaming space,” said Adam Pliska, CEO of the WPT. “As THETA.tv and the Theta Network grows in size, we look forward to offering additional assets and programming on the platform in the upcoming future.”
