The shift from live to online poker is finding a great deal of success and more payouts for winners

This month might not have any of the usual live poker action organized by the World Series of Poker (WSOP), but online poker is running another series to fill that void. WSOP.com announced several promotions for May, including a daily $100,000 guaranteed online poker tournament. During the coronavirus lockdown, most online poker sites are reporting high peaks in its traffic and, for WSOP.com, it has seen an all-time high in traffic reported from the three states in which it runs legal operations, New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware.

The $4 million guaranteed Money May Series’ start has been a lot better than expected. The current schedule includes two $100,000 guaranteed Players Appreciation events, with added incentives. The final day – May 24 – of the series will see the Main Event, which comes with a $300,000 guarantee. To accompany this May series, a $20,000 leaderboard was announced to all participants.

This tournament series brings more than just a series of events; it is also hosting an Online Player of the Week contest, which will give $1000 away in weekly prizes to eligible players. The biggest highlight of this month’s promotions is the new series of tournaments called “Keep It 100,” which kicked off last week on May 5. This promotion brings one daily tournament for $100,000 guaranteed until the event reports overlay. So, unless it falls short on the number of required players based on the buy-in cost, WSOP.com will continue hosting the event. The tournaments run at 5:00 PM EST every day and the buy-in cost is $215 (including the fee); it also comes with as many rebuys or re-entries that player wants.
