In the wake of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule unveiling, Daniel Negreanu took to social media to share his plans for the upcoming summer series – along with a by-the-numbers style breakdown of his chosen events.
The entirely unpredictable nature of tournament poker may lead to a slight tweak here or there to Negreanu's schedule. And, with Negreanu always live to run deep in the WSOP Player of the Year race, his scheduling commitments could increase if he finds himself in the running for the honor. For now, however, here's how 'Kid Poker's' summer looks to be shaping up.
The Negreanu plan
With 100 live events on the schedule for 2026, Negreanu has whittled his personal attack plan down to a more manageable timeline of 40 tournaments.
It's going to be an expensive summer for the Canadian, as more than half of his buy-ins will come at the $10,000 and above price points – with the $250K Super High Roller standing as the high watermark and the $300 Gladiators of Poker as his least expensive entry.
No-limit hold'em events will occupy the bulk of Negreanu's buy-ins this summer as he plans to fire 17 tournaments in the two-card streets – compared with 15 mixed game and 8 pot-limit Omaha events.
If there's one thing we can tell Negreanu has prioritized in his schedule, it's sleep. Throughout the summer, the late nights are inevitable and the negative effects that come with a lack of sleep compound over the course of the series. With this in mind, Negreanu has tailored his schedule in such a way that more than 75% of his selected events kick off at 12:00pm or later.
In 2025, Negreanu finished the summer series with a profit of $181,097.
Will he improve on that figure this summer? There's only one way to find out – stay tuned to PokerOrg for everything WSOP-related in the coming months.
