Former Playboy model and Baywatch star Pamela Anderson has entered the social gaming space with a new Facebook
poker game, named BamPoker.
The game is launched exclusively on Facebook, where it will be competing with a host of similar offerings, and most notably Zynga Poker, which boasts of more than 33 million active players per month.
BamPoker will offer
Texas Hold'em games in a tournament-style setting, with free access for all players.
The concept will also feature a special fan page, where users can interact with Anderson herself.
The game will be free to play, but will offer the opportunity for players to purchase chips for real money, which can then be used to qualify for special VIP tables.
The initiative was launched by Canadian entrepreneurs Elton Pereria and Jeremy Nichele, who according to Pamela Anderson offered a new innovate take on the social gaming experience.
"When I first met Elton and Jeremy, I knew they were on to something special," Anderson said, according to
VentureBeat.com.
"They weren't interested in creating just another game - they wanted to take the social elements of
online poker in a bold new direction. There is nothing like BamPoker out there today, and I am excited to be part of such an innovate platform," she added.
