GGPoker online festival awards 18 rings and runs through Jan. 10

The GGPoker portion of 2020 World Series of Poker Main Event wrapped up Monday, and the international online poker client rolls right into another massive festival this weekend.

The GGPoker WSOP Winter Online Circuit Series runs Dec. 7-Jan 10. The 18 centerpiece events from the series offer the opportunity to win a WSOP Circuit Ring.

$100 million in prize pool money is guaranteed across the series, as GGPoker finishes out an unprecedented year of poker with one of the biggest-money online series of the year.

Winter Online Circuit Main Event Guarantees $10 million

The Main Event from the Winter Online Circuit series could actually surpass the 2020 WSOP Main Event in guaranteed prize money.

Event #18: $1,700 Main Event guarantees $10 million, offering the biggest prize pool of any event in the series. The tournament is a phased event, with multiple Day 1 flights playing out Jan. 4-10.

Day 2 lands on Jan. 10, bringing back all players that emerge from the Day 1 flights. Day 2 sees the $1,700 Main Event play to a final table, with the final nine players returning Jan. 16 to settle on a winner.

The Winter Online Circuit Series Main Event takes shape as a re-entry tournament, with players allowed to fire up to four bullets total.

Other events to watch for in the Winter Online Circuit Series

The festival kicked off on GGPoker Monday, with opening flights in Event #1: BIG $50 $1 Million Guaranteed beginning. The BIG $50 is a phased tournament, with multiple opening flights running through Dec. 13.

Survivors from those flights come back for Day 2 action Dec. 13. That flight plays to a final table, which resumes Dec. 19 and plays down to a champion. This tournament will likely draw the biggest field of ay in the series, and will require more than 21,000 entries to meet the $1 million guarantee.

Also getting started on Dec. 13 is Event #2: $10,300 Super MILLION$ High Roller $5 Million Guaranteed. This tournament takes the place of the weekly Super MILLION$ High Roller and increases the usual $1.5 million guarantee to a $5 million prize pool.

Like the standard version of the Super MILLION$, Day 1 of Event #2 plays to a final table Sunday, and reconvenes Tuesday, Dec. 15.

Another tournament that’s sure to draw a massive field is Event #6: $170 Mini Main Event $2 Million Guaranteed. Like the full-size version of the Main Event, the Mini Main Event runs as a phased tournament.

Opening flights for the Mini Main Event run Dec. 14-20, all the way up to the beginning of Day 2. Day 2 action brings together the survivors of the Day 1 flights Dec. 20, playing down to a final table. The final nine standing participants then come back to narrow down to a champion Dec. 26.

Event #15: New Year Colossus $2,021 Million Guaranteed marks another phased event with a seven-figure prize pool. Opening flights for Event #15 run Dec. 28-Jan. 2, and play to a champion Jan. 3.
