The 2023 World Series of Poker Main Event at King's Casino in Rozavadov, Czech Republic smashed through the money bubble on Monday as 191 players began Day 3 with chips but only 35 remained in action by the end of the night's play. Bulgaria's Yulian Bogdanov topped the day's players, turning his start-of-day 924,000 chip stack into an event-leading 6,200,000 stack after ten and a half hours of play.
Bogdanov's Day 3 surge gave him a narrow lead over Ukraine's Ruslan Volkov (5,595,000) and France's Jacob Amsellem (5,550,000), while Italy's Dario Sammartino, who has won over $11.5 million in WSOP events but has yet to collect a WSOP bracelet, finished the day in fourth with a 4,975,000 stack.
The top ten Day 3 survivors also included prior WSOP Circuit ring winners Kasparas Klezys and Michael Rocco. The remainder of the field at day's end included other prominent stars as well, including David Kitai, Max Neugebauer, and Jonathan Pastore, while three-time bracelet winner Anson Tsang was one of the final players to bust during Day 2 action.
Money bubble bursts midway through session
The 191-player field took several hours to play down to the 123-player money bubble. Many prominent players made it into the money but exited short of bagging chips for Day 4. Besides Tsang, players who cashed but failed to advance included Daniel Dvoress, Viktor Blom, Jens, Lakemeier, Adrian Mateos, Wing Po Liu, Tobias Peters, Stoyan Madanzhiev, Stephen Chidwick, Maria Lampropulous, Leon Sturm, Alex Keating, Renat Bohdanov, and Manig Loeser.
