Netherlands pro Tobias Peters has become the latest bracelet winner to emerge from the 2023 World Series of Poker Europe by taking down Event #7 of the series, €1,650 NLH 6-Max, on Wednesday. Tobias outlasted a 495-entry field in the short-handed event and eliminated the United Kingdom's two-time bracelet winner, Barny Boatman, to secure his own first career bracelet.

Peters collected €143,000 for the triumph late Wednesday at Kings Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, where the 2023 WSOP Europe has roughly reached its midway point. With the win, Peters moved over $3 million in career live-tourney winnings, with nearly $800,000 of that coming in WSOP-branded events.

Peters survives short-stacked status, surges to win

When the unofficial seven-player final table in Event #7 formed, Peters faced long odds to pull off the win, as he arrived at the table with just five big blinds' worth of chips. Two quick double-ups, however, brought him back into contention, while second-in-chips Adem Marjanovic ran into early trouble and eventually exited in seventh as the final-table bubble player.

Israel's Rafi Elhahar began the official six-player finale with the lead, but he also fell to Peters' late rush. Elharar held on long enough to finish in third place (€70,450), leaving only Boatman between Peters and the win. Peters held the lead as the final duel began, but Boatman seemed primed for a double-through when he got all his chips in with pocket aces against Peters' king-queen. An unlikely all-club board played out, and with neither player having a club, the pot was chopped instead.

Soon after, another all-in found Peters leading with A-9 against Boatman's Q-10, and a 6-4-3-A-10 runout gave Peters the higher pair, the knockout, and the bracelet. It was Boatman's second final-table of the series, but still a near miss:

Event #7's 495 total entries came from 315 unique players who also contributed 180 re-entries. The field generated a €705,375 prize pool, and the top 75 finishers earned cash payouts. The final-table finishers and payouts in 2023 WSOP Europe Event #7, €1,650 NLH 6-Max, were as follows, with the top three finishers also collecting a WSOP Europe Main Event seat:

  1. Tobias Peters (Netherlands) - €143,100
  2. Barny Boatman (United Kingdom) - €88,500
  3. Rafi Elharar (Israel) - €60,100
  4. Jorge Ufano (Spain) - €41,600
  5. Daniel Koloszar (Hungary) - €29,400
  6. Adem Marjanovic (Austria) - €21,200
