2024 PGT PLO: Dylan Weisman wins Event #6, $10,100 Pot-limit Omaha

California's Dylan Weisman has continued his hot stretch of finishes in PokerGO Tour events by winning Event #6 of the ongoing 2024 PGT PLO series, $10,100 Pot-limit Omaha. The win was worth $229,500 for Weisman, who picked up his third PGT trophy of 2024 after winning separate titles in January's Kickoff and PokerGO festivals.

Weisman's triumph, along with two other cashes so far in the PLO series, also moved him just ahead of Samuli Sipila on the PGT PLO series leaderboard. The victory also pushed Weisman to the top of the PokerGO Tour's 2024 overall leaderboard, ahead of David Coleman.

Weisman leverages Day 1 lead to win

Tuesday's six-player finale in Event #6 found Weisman in fine shape to start, having bagged nearly 40 percent of the chips in play when Monday's Day 1 action concluded. Weisman's trip to the win, hpwever, was anything but straightforward.

Weisman picked up an early knockout to pad his stack, but then tumbled down the counts as early short-stacked player Jordan Spurlin rode a rush of big hands all the way to the lead. By that point, just three players remained, yet when Spain's Lautaro Guerra took one of the day's largest pots off of Spurlin, it appeared it would be Guerra's day.

Momentum turned again, however, when Weisman caught trip deuces to crack Spurlin's pocket kings and send Spurlin to the rail. That big hand returned Weisman to the lead against Guerra as their heads-up duel for the title began. The see-sawing wasn't done, as Guerra doubled through Weisman early on to retake the lead. Weisman, though, returned the favor with his own double-through and then closed out the win.

The end came in a hand where Weisman flopped a six-high straight, while the last of Guerra's chips went in with an overpair and a flush draw. The turn and river bricked for Guerra, however, and Weisman had his third PGT win of 2024.
