With a new round of increased pandemic restrictions resulting in the postponement of live poker series on both sides of the Atlantic, it's likely that December will see a marked jump in online-poker action. In just the past handful of days, several operators have announced December online series. One that was announced just before the Omicron-based lockdown surge began is the 18th iteration of the Online Super Series (OSS), the longest-running series at Americas Cardroom (ACR), the flagship site of the Winning Poker Network (WPN).
The full 100-plus-event schedule for OSS XVIII has yet to be released, though that's likely to occur in the coming week. However, the series highlights have been announced. OSS XVIII will run December 5 through December 19, 2020. December 19 is the last day that Day 1 action in any OSS XVIII action will begin; several events will run through at least December 20. Overall, the series will offer $15 million in guaranteed prize money. The series highlights include:
- Four (4) $1,000,000 Guaranteed events
- One (1) $2,000,000 Guaranteed event
- Daily mega-satellites to all major events
- Multiple multi-flight special events
Kickoff and twin main events each offer $1 million guarantees
Three of the four million-dollar-guaranteed events are the series "Kickoff" tourney on December 5 and twin main events, scheduled to get underway on December 12 and December 19, respectively. ACR has offered these details to date on these events:
- OSS $1,000,000 Guaranteed Kick Off ($215 buy-in): Day 1 flights all week and Day 2 on Sunday, December 5th at 5:30pm ET.
- OSS $1,000,000 Guaranteed Main Event 1 ($630 buy-in): Day 1 on Sunday, December 12th at 1pm and Day 2 on Monday, December 13th at 3:05pm ET.
- OSS $1,000,000 Guaranteed Main Event 2 ($2,650 buy-in): Day 1 on Sunday, December 19th at 1pm and Day 2 on Monday, December 20th at 1:05pm ET.
The other two events with guarantees of a million dollars or more are two of the three multi-flight special events offered during OSS XVIII. There are three multi-flight special events:
- $250,000 Guaranteed ($22 buy-in)
- $1,000,000 Guaranteed PKO ($215 buy-in)
- $2,000,000 Guaranteed ($630 buy-in)
