Kid Poker has put up some serious action on his attempt to win a WSOP event this year

It’s not a secret for anyone that Daniel Negreanu has been struggling since 2013 to get a hold of one those sought-after World Series of Poker (WSOP) gold bracelets. Kid Poker, a six-time bracelet winner, is determined to change his luck this year and he is willing to make it more interesting by betting some money on it. Negreanu put up a challenge on Twitter this past Friday to find a gambler that could win $1 million if Negreanu doesn't win one of those bracelets during this WSOP 2020 series.

The Poker Hall of Famer first lined up the terms of this bet, "I’ll take 2.5 to 1 that I win a WSOP bracelet in 2020," he flatly stated, meaning that if someone put up a $50 bet that, should Negreanu lose, he would have to pay $20. He also added that it is irrelevant if WSOP runs online – only explaining that it could be online or at any of the live fall events run at a land-based venue. "Tough to win against huge online fields," teased Negreanu as he was looking for some action.

His opponents started to appear shortly after, starting with former November Niner Eoghan O’Dea, who offered a $5,000 wager; plenty of others offered wagers for $50 and up. For some people, it is crazy to think about betting against one of the best poker players in the world; Negreanu just came short last year of winning the WSOP Player of the Year in 2019 and won the POY award in 2018. However, since he hasn't been able to win a bracelet since 2013, that also might add extra pressure for him.
