There are fast starts to the year and then there are David Coleman starts. We're only just into February, but the New Jersey pro has already bagged his third PGT title of 2024, with a $300k win in Event 6 in the PokerGO Cup series last night.

With the buy-in bumped up to $15k from the earlier $5k and $10k events, Coleman was one of 63 runners in the PokerGO Studios at the Aria, chasing a share of the $945,000 prize pool.

The nine paid spots saw Nick Schulman and Sam Soverel make the money, but both bowed out before the final table of seven, which was quickly whittled down to just four.

Jeremy Ausmus was first out before Michael Brinkenhoff flopped a set of fours to dispose of Aram Zobian and Justin Saliba in the same hand. "What is happening? This is total chaos," exclaimed Brent Hanks on commentary. You can watch the carnage below.

Coleman, chasing his sixth cash in the first month of the new PGT season, looked an unlikely winner at this point. He was down to just two big blinds. However, a trio of double-ups at the expense of DeStefano put him right back in the game, and when Brinkenhoff and Seth Davies were eliminated, he was heads-up for the title.

The mano-a-mano duel didn’t last long. Coleman closed out the win on just the second hand of heads-up play, securing not only his third PGT title in as many weeks, but a seat at the top of the PGT leaderboard.

PGT Cup Event 6 results

6 Justin Saliba $51,975

Coleman lies some 432 points ahead of Dylan Weisman, but it is third-placed Kristen Foxen who will be looking to close the gap this evening.

Foxen, who also bagged a PGT Kick-off win earlier this month, sits sixth of six at the final table of Event 7, which plays out tonight in Vegas. However, very little sits between chip leader Daniel Smiljkovic and the chasing pack.

Foxen also has a third and eighth place finish to her name this year, currently leaving her other half, husband Alex, trailing in her wake.
