GGPoker has announced what it’s billing as a “truly revolutionary” new poker show.

Poker After Dark’s Game of Gold mixes high-stakes poker with reality TV as 16 players bid to win the $456,000 first prize by surviving through different rounds of action.

These rounds include traditional formats including Sit & Go and heads-up games, but also twists such as Indian Poker, the game where you put a card on your forehead and bet/bluff to win the pot. There are 12 episodes, and each one will see a player eliminated ahead of the grand final.

Daniel Negreanu heads the 16-strong cast, along with fellow GGPoker ambassadors Jason Koon, Fedor Holz, Kevin Martin, and Andy Tsai.

Josh Arieh, Daniel Cates, Lukas Robinson, Charlie Carrel, Johan “YoH ViraL” Guilbert, David Williams, and Michael Soyza make up the male side of the show.

They’re joined by four women: Kyna England, Nikita Luther, Olga Iermolcheva, and Maria Ho.

The Game of Gold announcement comes hot on the heels of the news that PokerStars is bringing back The Big Game, which is set to be filmed at next week’s NAPT in Las Vegas.

The Big Game on Tour will follow the same format as the original, with Loose Cannons being staked to play in a high-stakes cash game where they get to keep any of the profits.

By contrast, Game of Gold is a completely new spin on the original Poker After Dark format, which featured big-name pros playing in traditional high-stakes cash games and Sit & Gos.

“Game of Gold takes all the best parts of traditional poker shows, adds some exciting new

elements, and mixes them together with reality TV to make something truly revolutionary,” said Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker Global Ambassador.

“If you have even the smallest bit of interest in poker, you have to check Game of Gold out. As to the question of whether I won the $456,000 or not - well, just watch and you’ll find out for yourself!”

Game of Gold premieres on GGPoker’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, November 8 at 12:00 UTC, with the second episode released on Friday, November 10 at the same time. The remaining episodes will go out every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until the grand final on December 4.
