With the Battle of Malta starting and the new $5k buy-in High Roller Blade Opener this was an especially big Sunday on GGPoker.

Not only did these big events play out, but the usual MILLIONS and High Roller events were still on making for a lot of big-name wins and a half dozen six-figure first-place prizes.

These other hundred-thousandaires were: “UknowConcoo” ($275,594) taking down the High Roller MILLIONS); “DerEinzahler” ($163,897) conquering the GGMasters High Roller; “wisechinese1 ($126,197) grabbing first-place in the Global MILLION; and Ori Hasson ($109,892) who won the Kings of Tallinn Event.

$5k High Roller Blade Opener goes to Mühlöcker

If you could forgive GG their unforgivable pun, the Blade Opener final table was an impressive game to watch. With a $5,250 buy in, this event was a big deal for a Sunday tourney. And the crew who showed up to play were commensurate to that deal.

Austrian poker-pro Thomas Mühlöcker took the event down for $100,985. Mühlöcker has over $7 million in live cashes, including a deep run in the WSOP Player’s Championship in August.

He had to carve his way through a final table that included such high stakes cutthroats as Isaac Haxton, Elio Fox, Adrien Mateos, and WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Dvoress.

FT Results:

1st – Thomas Muehloecker – $100,985

2nd – R Romashka – $63,551

3rd – J Andersson – $48,080

4th – Adrian Mateos – $36,375

5th – Daniel Dvoress – $27,519

6th – Isaac Haxton – $20,819

7th – Elio Fox – $15,751

8th – L Levinskas – $11,916

The Battle of Malta side event success

Usually, the Battle of Malta is a live series played on the eponymous isle. This year, the Mediterranian gambler’s paradise would rather we all kept our COVID-riddled lungs to ourselves. GGPoker picked up the license to put the series on the internet instead.

November 1st saw the series kick off with a $110 buy-in Opener with a $200k guarantee, the $215 Kings of Tallinn Main Event, and a couple of Higher Stakes side events.

The biggest of these was the $3,150 Bounty Grand Master High Roller. An exact 100 players coughed up the fee and dived into the event. The field was every bit as star-studded as the Roller Blade Opener with two-time bracelet winner Michael Addamo taking first place.

Addamo had to beat high stakes pros Andras Nemath, Artur Martirosian, and Dario Sammartino — as well as nosebleed crusher David Peters to do it.

He won $70k for coming first and another $47k in bounties picked up along the way.
