Live tournament festival running through Jan. 31 in Houston, TX
Following up on the success of its inaugural event in October, the Lone Star Poker Series returns to Houston, TX for a live tournament festival throughout the rest of January.
The Lone Star Poker Series Champions Social festival kicked off on Jan. 22 and runs through Jan. 31. The series plays out from Houston’s Champions Social poker club, one of the biggest live poker hubs in the Texas poker club scene.
The Champions Social series marks the second festival in the short history of the Lone Star Poker Series. The first took place at Houston’s Prime Social poker club in October 2020.
That event proved a big success for the new Texas-based tour, and the currently-running Lone Star Poker Series Champions Social appears poised to draw big numbers in Houston this week.
Lone Star Poker Series Champions Social events and registration
The Lone Star Poker Series Champions Social festival features 16 events, as well as satellite qualifiers to many of those tournaments. The first three events played out over the weekend, including Event #1: $400 Super Stack Kickoff $100,000 Guaranteed.
The three-day tournament drew 546 entries, with the prize pool going well past the guarantee. Stephen Hart took down the tournament for a $32,000 payday, as the final prize pool ended up at $177,450.
That attendance points to big things for the remainder of the series. The festival culminates in Event #15: $600 Main Event $200,000 Guaranteed, which runs Jan. 29-31.
Plenty of other tournament action takes place between now and the Main Event. In-person registration for all main tournaments and satellites is available at Champions Social, located in the Alief area of West Houston.

As per Lone Star Poker Series tradition, each winner from the 16-event schedule gets not only the first-place prize but also a custom silver belt buckle.
Other highlights on the Lone Star Poker Series Champions Social schedule include Event #11: Lone Star PLO Championship II. The Pot-Limit Omaha event comes at a $600 buy-in and guarantees $25,000.
The series finishes up with a one-day event on Sunday, Jan. 31. Event #16: NLH Monster Stack Closer, offers $20,000 guaranteed at a $400 buy-in.
Accommodations
Several hotels lie within a 20-minute drive of Champions Social. The poker club is teaming up with the Houston Hilton Westchase, located about 15 minutes east of the poker room.
