Mid States Poker Tour comes to Southern California April 29-May 9
It’s been a while since the San Diego poker scene played host to a major tournament festival, but the Mid States Poker Tour is coming to the sunny Southern California city.
The MSPT San Diego Showdown Series commences from San Diego’s Sycuan Casino, running April 29-May 9. The ten-day series includes 11 feature events, with two of those tournaments offering six-figure guaranteed prize pools.
The Showdown Series marks the first of two San Diego stops for the MSPT in 2021.

Two six-figure guarantees highlight series schedule
The MSPT San Diego Showdown Series gets right into the six-figure guarantees. Event #1: $360 MSPT offers a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool to kick off the series.
That kickoff tournament marks the first of 11 trophy events across the series. The pinnacle of the Showdown Series comes in the form of Event #10: $1,100 Main Event.
The $1,100 Main Event features three Day 1 flights, one per day from May 6-8. The survivors of those starting flights come back May 9 and play down to a champion in the $200,000 guaranteed tournament.
Satellite qualifiers to Event #1: $360 MSPT begin April 29, and run up until the start of the Day 1C flight on Saturday, May 1. Satellites to the $1,100 Main Event run throughout the series, up until the start of Day 1C on Saturday, May 8.
Registration and accommodations
MSPT San Diego tournament action commences from the Heritage Event Center at Sycuan Casino. Registration for all events must be done in-person at the Event Center, and not from the Sycuan Casino poker rooms.
The best bet for players looking ahead to the MSPT San Diego Showdown Series is to book accommodations at Sycuan Casino Resort Hotel. You can visit the resort’s website reservations page for updated information on special rates and available dates during the MSPT series.
