The Caesars Palace poker room is now back on the Las Vegas Strip, rebooted in a temporary space with a three-phase plan that would make the flagship venue bigger than it has ever been.

Caesars shuttered its poker room in June of 2024 to make room for high-limit slots. One year later, its back open to reconstitute a trio of Caesars-owned poker spots on the Las Vegas Strip, joining the Hall of Fame Poker Room at Horseshoe and the newly-reopened room at Planet Hollywood.

The new room, which is nestled near the luxury shops that surround the David statue in the Appian Way corridor, is now smaller and fresh out of the box with plain walls and a new car smell. But the size and the understated decor are only temporary.

A three-phase plan

"The endgame plan is there are three phases of construction," Poker Room Manager James Tobiasz told us. "This is just phase one. This is more of a temporary space with the whole goal of getting our team members back to work, all the same faces and the same floor staff."

"Phase two is going just past the wall into the next retail space, which is going to take us all the way to the statue of David, then all the way to the casino floor.  So, the space will actually be bigger than our previous location."

The adjacent retail space will allow the room to expand to 23-25 tables. The adjacent retail space will allow the room to expand to 23-25 tables.

The adjacent retail space, now a clothing store, will create room for between 23 and 25 tables. "It's going to be about a three-month construction project. When phase two is done, we're going to move our operations into (the new space) and then they're going to come back in here to mirror the aesthetics and everything." The same team that designed the high-limit table games and slot areas at Caesars will apply their world-class touch to the new room.

"It's more or less bringing our players and guests the Caesars Palace experience and meeting those expectations. Caesars Palace is the iconic flagship, and we're going to carry that theme out no matter what your experience is from the pool to the steak houses, to the table games and slots. We're going to carry that theme throughout and the poker will come in right alongside."

Regular games and tournaments

Caesars will spread $1/3 and $2/5, though with increases limits. "What we did was increase our cash game limits. Our $1/3 no-limit is now $100 to $500 and our $2/5 is $500 to $2,000. This way we can capture multiple buy-in levels. You can combine the $1/3 and the $2/5 player."

Cash games

  • $1/3 no-limit hold'em
  • $2/5 no-limit hold'em
  • $5/10 no-limit hold'em

Tournaments

Caesars will run four daily tournaments. The 2 pm and 9 pm slots will carry a $160 buy-in and the 6 pm and 10 pm slots will cost $120. Previous years required tournaments to expand into a temporary space in the sportsbook, and it will remain in use once again this summer.

"The $2/5 has a lower rake, a 5% instead of a 10%, as well. So, we're trying to give something for everybody because we do have limited space. That is one thing you can't escape. It's going to fill up pretty quick during a WSOP season. We're going to have some spots where we're going to miss guest experience because of that."

Comps and promos

Nothing has changed about the comps. You will still pile up $2 an hour and double tier points to get through your Diamond and Seven Star statuses. There is no jackpot drop. "When it comes to jackpot drops, we don't do a promo drop. We want most of the money on the table."

Finding the Caesars Palace poker room

The room is located in one of the shopping corridors, near the David statue on Appian Way. If you are coming from the parking garage, head in the direction of the sportsbook and turn right after the food court.

It will remain open 24/7 throughout the WSOP, just a short trip across the pedestrian bridges at Flamingo on Las Vegas Blvd.
