JOPT issues apology statement: The Japan Open Poker Tour has apologized to players and fans after including condoms and lube as additional sponsored prizes in its upcoming Ladies Championship.

"We extend our deepest apologies to everyone who felt anxious or uncomfortable," reads a section of the tour's statement.

While the backlash on social media was swift and exacting, the JOPT intends to run the tournament as scheduled – with no changes to the prize pool.

Participants will be allowed to opt out of receiving sponsored prizes and any photography during the event.

PokerStars UK has moved: Players on PokerStars in the United Kingdom now have a new home after the UK client was retired on October 7.

PokerStars on Betfair is now up and running, offering the same games and tournament schedule UK players are familiar with, although automatic migration of accounts is not universally available. Existing Betfair users can play straight away, while those without an account may need to create one if not being migrated - and those long-cherished usernames may not be available!

The PokerStars UK cashier will remain open for 4 weeks in order for users to withdraw their bankrolls.
