The final ring of the WSOPC Council Bluffs series has been awarded to Derrick Plumage, who topped the field of 86 runners to claim the $8,043 first prize along with his first WSOP Circuit ring and a $5,000 package to WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas.

Plumage outlasted plenty of notables at the final table in Ryan Phan, who won the series-opening event, along with Jay Philips and Dalton Jones, who made deep runs in the Main Event.

Plumage explained after the win how he had plenty of support with him in the form of various card protectors and good luck charms.

They're down to the final three in the $400 Double Stack Closer, with Derrick Plumage, Tom Vontz, and Dalton Jones the final trio of players.

Jones is the only remaining player with a WSOP Circuit ring to his name, which he won in this very event last year when he beat a field of 95 entries to win $8,509.

He's got two more opponents to get by for an encore performance. Stay tuned to see if he can do it.

The final final table is underway

The last chance at a WSOP Circuit ring here in Council Bluffs has reached its final table with Kaven Wood atop the counts, holding 670,000 chips. Derrick Plumage sits second, while Dalton Jones, who made a run to 12th place in the Main Event, sits third.

Jay Philips, who finished 9th in the Main Event, comes in with one of the shorter stacks at her second final table in as many days.

Also at the final table is Ryan Phan, who won the series-opening Double Stack event. Can he close the series with another Double-Stack triumph? He's the second-shortest stack of the final ten, but a three-time ring winner can never be counted out.

Tag! You're it!

Is it just my inner 6-year-old coming out, or would this big ol' empty room full of poker tables and stacks of chairs make a great room for a game of tag?

I dunno, I've been working 29 days straight, this is where my brain's gone to.
