The Potomac Winter Poker Open roars back to life today as one of the East Coast's most anticipated poker series officially gets underway. 

From the opening shuffle, the energy is turned all the way up, with a packed daily schedule, millions in guarantees spread across the series, and a deep lineup of trophy events ready to test every style of player. Over the next 13 days, the action builds toward the marquee $3,000 PWPO Championship, where a massive $750,000 guaranteed prize pool awaits, and a statement win is very much on the table.

For the first time, the Potomac Winter Poker Open will run entirely inside The Poker Room at MGM National Harbor, putting the tournament action directly on the casino floor. With 23 trophy events on the schedule, the festival strikes a perfect balance among multi-day headliners, mixed games, and special events, drawing players who share the same goal, victory.

The opening tournament fires today at 2 PM with Event #1: $600 No Limit Hold'em Opener, and it wastes no time setting the tone. Featuring a hefty $500,000 guarantee, the multi-flight event gives players multiple shots to build a stack and position themselves for a deep run when Day 2 rolls around.
