Brian Hastings bagged the top stack at the end of Day 1a with 894,000 going into his bag. Hastings was trailed closely by Jake White who bagged 833,000.

It was a quick hot start for Hastings who eliminated fellow bracelet winner Justin Fawcett early in his day and he would follow that up by eliminating LA reg Derek Kwan as well. From there, Hastings never looked back on his way to bagging the chip lead.

Hastings is no stranger to WSOP success with six WSOP bracelets to his name as well as one circuit ring. And though most of his success has come in the mixed variety, Hastings still has plenty of results and experience in the No-Limit Hold'em formats as well.
