Will you outscore Neymar Jr?

With massive prizes and championship titles to be won, WCOOP attracts poker players from all over the world seeking fame and fortune at the virtual tables.

Someone who already has plenty of both is legendary Brazilian soccer star Neymar Jr, who has been putting in the hours at the WCOOP felt this month in the hopes of adding a poker trophy to his long list of achievements.

Neymar Jr at the 2025 BSOP Championship Neymar Jr has a well known passion for poker, both live and online.

Brazil has been dominating the WCOOP winners’ circle during the series, and the national soccer team’s all-time top scorer — a league winner in Brazil, Spain, France and Saudi Arabia, as well as winner of the UEFA Champions League and an Olympic gold medal — has been regularly showing up to contest WCOOP events.

He had a strong finish last week in the $5K 6-MAX NLHE Turbo event, where he finished in 11th place, having previously made the final table in the $10K Super Tuesday earlier this month. Then, on Monday, Neymar scored a WCOOP runner-up finish for $99K in the $5,200 Titans event, coming within a whisker of his first major poker title.

Those managing to see out wins in the series include various players with multiple victories, including several who managed to take down two WCOOP events on the same day. These include serial winner Blaz ‘Scarmak3r’ Zerjav, who won the $215 HORSE and $320 NLHE on September 9 for a combined score of over $30K, and Germany’s ‘B00mslang’ who took down both the $109 PLO and $1K 6-Max NLHE on September 10 for over $42K.

To take your shot, head to PokerStars.
