Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida has unveiled the schedule of events for the 2024 edition of the aptly named Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO), which will begin at the end of July. A fixture on the southern Florida poker scene since 2014, the SHRPO returns this year for a 14-day run of events.
Included within the 2024 SHRPO's extensive schedule of events is the return of the 'Big 4', a series-within-a-series of four major events with staggered multi-day action, timed so that the final tables of all four events run simultaneously.
The 'Big 4' events include the following:
- Friday, Aug. 9: $5,300 SHRPO Championship (Single Re-Entry Per Day), $3 Million Gtd.
- Sunday, Aug. 11: $3,000 Deep Stack NLHE (Re-Entry), $1 Million Gtd.
- Monday, Aug. 12: $1,100 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry), $500,000 Gtd.
- Monday, Aug. 12: $25,500 High Roller No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry), $1 Million Gtd.
The four events will each have their final tables playing out on August 13, the last day of the SHRPO festival. While the series ends with a bang, millions more in guaranteed prizes are available throughout the rest of the series, and dozens of the festival's smaller events are offered without guarantees as well.
The 2024 SHRPO offers 61 different events in a wide variety of hold'em and omaha formats, with a smattering of mixed events added in as well. The major events are also supported by another 41 multi-table satellite tourneys scheduled throughout the festival's two-week run, assuring that Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood's 80-table layout will be busy through most of those two weeks.
Last year, self-described 'recreational player' Dimitri Vorbe took down the SHRPO main event for $929,365, fully illustrating the large payouts on offer through the series.
