As 2025 turns into 2026, we’re talking to some of the biggest names in the poker world, and reflecting on the year’s most interesting stories and events.

Jeff Platt is one of the best-known faces in 21st century poker content, hosting and commentating on a wide range of poker shows including No Gamble, No Future, Poker After Dark, the WSOP and more. He is also a WSOP Circuit ring-winner and has career tournament earnings of over $600K.

'WSOP Vegas is going to be unlike anything anybody has ever seen'

What was the best thing that happened to you in 2025?

The best thing that happened to me in poker was agreeing to buy pieces of TJ Reid's tournament action. I feel like he has single-handedly saved my year.

That’s from a poker-playing/staking perspective; the best part of my poker broadcasting this year would have to be being on the floor for the World Series of Poker Main Event, and presenting a bracelet to Michael Mizrachi.

How about the worst thing that happened to you this year, poker-wise?

The worst thing that happened to me this year was my actual poker playing. It was abysmal: my worst year results-wise I think of my entire poker career, and I was pretty bad, back in the day! Not that I'm any good now…

Did you make any New Year's resolutions?

I'm not a New Year's resolution guy, because, at least for me, if I was like, ‘Okay, starting January 1st I'm gonna eat perfectly, I'm not gonna have one snack throughout the entire year, I'm gonna win 14 poker tournaments’, it's hard to put that into fruition.

So every day is kind of the same for me, and in a good way, so no New Year's resolutions for me — as boring as that answer, may be!

What are you looking forward to in 2026?

I'm not just saying this because I feel so aligned with the company, but I'm really looking forward to the entire World Series of Poker schedule in 2026.

I think we've seen really big changes, and important changes, and now we get to revitalize World Series of Poker Europe, with Prague.

WSOP Vegas is going to be unlike anything anybody has ever seen from a poker perspective, and then we get to come back to Paradise in December. You cap all that off with a $1 million player of the year race, and I think what I'm focussed on in 2026 is all World Series-based.
