The 2026 WSOP Europe (WSOPE) Main Event in Prague is officially the largest major tournament in European poker history.
Day 2 began with 980 players remaining from 2,248 entries, with late registration still open for two 90-minute levels.
The €10 million guarantee had already been surpassed – the only question was how big it would go.
By the start of Level 13, with late registration closed, the field had hit 2,617, generating a prize pool of €13,085,000.
The previous record belonged to the 2022 EPT Barcelona Main Event, which drew 2,294 entries and generated a €11,125,900 prize pool.
In that event, Giuliano Bendinelli came back from one big blind to win the first prize of €1,491,133 after a deal was struck heads-up.
Big names still in contention
The WSOP has confirmed that the winner of the Main Event will receive €2 million, with the runner-up also earning a seven-figure payout of €1.2 million. A total of 393 players will receive at least a min-cash of €10,000.
And there are plenty of notable players still in contention for the WSOPE Main Event bracelet.
Shiina Okamoto is among the chip leaders. Martin Kabrhel also has a big stack but is definitely the loudest voice left in.
Frankie C, Benny Glaser, and Terrance Reid also have above-average stacks, and 2025 WSOP Main Event winner Michael Mizrachi is short but still in with a shot at an incredible double.
Annette Obrestad also has chips and is looking to roll back the years after winning the inaugural WSOPE Main Event in London in 2007.
We're set for six levels of play today, and it's now a freezeout – when you're out, you're out. The champion will be crowned on Saturday.
