Marking 25 years in the game, online operator ACR Poker has announced a new running of its flagship Venom tournament series from August 13 to September 2.
And to match the celebratory vibes, the upcoming series is expected to be the biggest yet. Previous Venom tournaments have maxed out at $10M.
$15 million will be in the guaranteed prizepool for the Main Events, which will once again take the form of twin tournaments — one a no-limit hold’em (NLH) event, and one played as a pot-limit Omaha (PLO) tournament.
Both will also be run as mystery bounty tournaments, and both will have a buy-in of $2,650.
$12M GTD in hold’em event
The bulk of that guaranteed prizepool — $12 million — will be awarded in the NLH edition, which will also feature a minimum bounty prize of $5K and a maximum of $500K.
The PLO event has a $3M GTD prizepool, a $5K minimum mystery bounty and a $250K top bounty.
Eight starting flights for each tournament will begin on Thursday, August 13 at 12:05pm ET and run on the following dates throughout the summer.
- Day 1A: August 13
- Day 1B: August 16
- Day 1C: August 17
- Day 1D: August 20
- Day 1E: August 23
- Day 1F: August 24
- Day 1G: August 27
- Day 1H: August 30
Day 2 will see all players in the money and mystery bounties up for grabs, and will take place on August 31 at 1:05pm ET.
The PLO event will end on Day 2, while the NLH edition will play down to a final table, on September 1 at 1:05pm ET. That final table will start on September 2 at 4:05pm ET.
$10M in added value Venom Specials
ACR Poker is also putting a further $10M in added value into Venom Special tournaments running on each Day 1.
Venom Fever satellites will also be available, providing a cheaper route into these big money events. Over 1,500 seats are being guaranteed via regular satellites, mega satellites, Beast Tourneys, steps and Survivor Flips.
Players will be able to play multiple Venom starting flights and combine their stacks for Day 2.
