The Venom, ACR Poker’s flagship multi-phase tournaments that run simultaneously in no-limit hold’em (NLH) and pot-limit Omaha (PLO) variants, has concluded with over $10.5M in prize money awarded.
The prizepools of $8,480,000 for the NLH and $2,075,000 in the PLO ended up outstripping the promised $8M and $2M guarantees, as thousands of entrants took part across multiple starting flights.
3,392 entered the NLH, each paying the $2,650 buy-in across six starting flights, while the PLO event drew 830 at the same price point.
Huge mystery bounty prizes awarded
Taking the lion’s share of the spoils in the NLH event was David ‘IamYorFather’ Gonzalez of Southern California, who claimed $665,163 for the win plus another $45,000 in bounties. Runner-up 'ArkaduktusFrRM' received $484,282 for their deep run, but also pulled one of the biggest bounties for an additional $210K.
The largest of the mystery bounty prizes, worth $500K, was won by ‘sorka1975’, who added another $40K for a total of $540K in bounty prizes alone. ‘Sorka1975’ also made the final table, winning an additional $69,912 for their 8th place finish.
In the PLO event, ‘FutureTrunks’ was the last player standing to take down the $208,217 up top, and also added an extra $146,250 in bounties. The biggest of the PLO mystery bounties — worth $200K — went to ‘PohPohPohPAAAA’, who finished in 9th spot for a $12,899 payout, but landed a huge $220K in bounty prizes.
Overall, 102 players made the money in the PLO, and 410 in the NLH. You can watch the final table action, with commentary from ACR Poker’s Rob Kuhn and Drew ‘BetOnDrew’ Gonzalez, over on Twitch.
