Alan Keating had a rocky ride in the nosebleed stakes at PokerGO Studio, dropping over $900K in the opening session of the Super High Roller Cash game on Monday night.
It is the first of three days of high-stakes action, anchored by PokerGO Studio regulars Keating and Andrew Robl, along with up-and-coming special guest Sam 'Senor Tilt' Kiki. The stakes were $500/1K/2K, and the action was, well, actionable.
Things were not going well from Jump Street for Keating, but the slide picked up some real steam when he dumped a $1,000,000 pot to Sameh Elamawy.
Million dollar speeding ticket
Keating raised to $10,000 with and Elamawy lied in wait for a three-bet to $50,000 with
. Meanwhile, Kirk Brown was sitting on the button with
, which prompted a smooth call. Keating joined the party, and it was three to a flop.
The flop meant check from Keating before Elamawy fired $125,000 with queens. Brown ducked out of the way and tossed Big Slick in the muck, setting up Keating for a saucy move.
There were gasps as Keating reached back and fired a stack with $450,000 in it. Elamawy called without hesitation for the rest of his chips and he had pole position on a pot that now tipped over $1 million.
They ran it twice. The first go was and the second was
, leaving nothing but air for Keating. It was a rough stretch to start the stream for Keating, but he would get some back later after a nasty hand with Justin Gavri.
It started out great for Gavri, who flopped a with
in his hand. But Keating, who held
, caught the rest of it when two kings fell on the flop. It was still looking good for Gavri, but a runout with
and
bailed out Keating with the rivered full house and a $433K pot.
When all was said and done, Keating would end up eating a loss of $667K. Senor Tilt joined him in the red, losing just over $600K of his own. Brown and Gavri also ended up losing money.
Meanwhile, Elamawy was the big winner, grabbing over $900K after the big pot with Keating. Darin Feinstein also won over $500K and Robl fell into a small profit after a flip reversed his fortunes at the end of the night.
They'll return to PokerGO on Tuesday night for more Super High Rolling action at 4pm Vegas time.
Meanwhile, you can watch all of the action from last night below.
