The Million Dollar Marathon on Hustler Casino Live came to a conclusion in the early morning hours on Wednesday – falling well short of its 24-hour target.
While the game failed to reach its preset time target, there was no shortage of action throughout the 12 hours and 40 minutes of nonstop play as the total dollar amount on the table exceeded eight figures.
Million Dollar (Half) Marathon winners and losers
Alan Keating walked away as the game's biggest winner, racking up a profit of $1,699,500 while also leading the table with a 64% VPIP (voluntarily put in pot) and a 27% PFR (pre-flop raise). Keating's haul came, in large part, thanks to a three-way clash against 'Steve' and Martin Kabrhel which saw him win one of the largest pots in live-streamed poker history.
On a flop, both 'Steve' and Kabrhel connected strongly with trips, but Keating had both of them in rough shape with a full house. After multiple raises went in, the pot swelled to $2,082,000 and the players agreed to see two turns and two rivers. With only a couple cards to fade, Keating held across the two runouts to haul in the largest pot of the session.
Nik 'Airball' Arcot took his leave earlier than most, departing after just under 9 hours of play with a $1,351,500 profit – making him the game's second biggest winner. "I'm out, booked a win," Arcot said with a smile as he racked up his chips.
"Thank you, buddy," Arcot replied as Keating congratulated him. "Very happy to book a win in one of these."
Like Keating, a large chunk of Arcot's profit came courtesy of a single hand against Peter Wang. With $689,500 in the pot, Arcot needed to get lucky with against Wang's
– and he did just that as he outdrew his opponent on both runouts.
DoorDash co-founder Stanley Tang arrived well into the session, taking a seat in the game as part of the reinforcement squad. Tang made the most of his limited time on the felt, racking up a $700,000 profit in just a few hours.
On the other side of the coin, Brandon Steven, 'Steve', and Kabrhel booked big losses. Steven, the game's biggest loser, departed with $2,000,000 less than he arrived with. In the early goings, Steven took a brutal beat against Wang and it only got worse from there. In the aftermath of the aforementioned three-way cooler, 'Steve' quit the game with a $1,000,000 loss.
Kabrhel stuck around until the game's conclusion and managed to score a triple up in the closing moments to mitigate his losses, but still finished in the hole for $342,000.
