Australia's all-time female leader in poker-tournament earnings, Jackie Glazier, has filed a lawsuit against the production company behind the popular Survivor: Australia television series. Glazier, 50, of Melbourne, was injured during the filming of a Season 12 episode during 2023, breaking her collarbone and suffering complications that her legal counsel described as debilitating and having a long-term impact on her health and public life.

The action names Survivor: Australia's production company, Endemol Shine Australia as the defendant. It was filed by Aussie legal firm Arnold, Thomas & Becker on Glazier's behalf, and seeks compensation for damages, loss of earnings and potential earnings, and medical expenses. Glazier was paid AUD $25,000 after being selected as part of the Season 12 cast, but was forced to withdraw from the competition following her injury.

Glazier and another Season 12 contestant were injured during one of the show's frequent physical competitions, this one featuring a jump onto one of two rotating boxes, followed by a flip or jump into a muddy pit of water. The lawsuit alleges that the pit was filled with only 30 centimeters of water (just less than one foot), when a meter to a meter and a half of water was needed to ensure a safe landing.

The broken collarbone was accompanied by ligament damage in her shoulder and led to thoracic outlet syndrome, which causes chronic pain and limited movement.

Glazier a WSOP Europe bracelet winner

Glazier, likely Australia's most famous female player, has earned just under US $1.5 million in recorded tournament winnings dating back to 2008. Her career (to date) reached its pinnacle in the early 2010s, when she logged a career-best $458,996 score for a runner-up finish in a $3,000 NLH event at the 2012 WSOP. That hefty payout came just six weeks after she won her first major tournament, the AU$1,100 Main Event of the 2012 Melbourne Poker Championship.

A little over a year later, at the 2013 WSOP Europe festival, which was then held in France, Glazier secured the bracelet she'd just missed in 2012 by taking down the WSOPE's €1,100 NLH Ladies Championship

Glazier's run of success also led her to being signed as a brand ambassador by 888poker. Glazier served in the role until 2016:
