Just a couple of weeks after winning the opening event of Triton Montenegro, the $25K Golden Decade event, Canada’s Daniel Dvoress has added yet another accolade to his glittering resume.

The Ontarian was the last man standing in the $100K PLO Main Event this week, winning $2,018,000 alongside a Jacob & Co Epic X Skeleton timepiece, traditionally gifted to winners of Triton main events.

The victory, over a field of 76 high-caliber entrants, puts Dvoress at the top of the Triton all-time standings when it comes to Omaha events, having collected 75 cashes, 5 titles and a total of $32,811,982 on the Triton tour.

Dvoress is now a 5-time winner on the Triton tour. Dvoress is now a 5-time winner on the Triton tour.

Fellow Canadian Mike Watson also shines in Montenegro

Dvoress had his work cut out at a final table that included his countryman Mike Watson, joining the final seven players in close to last position with one of the shortest stacks in the field.

"Mentally I was preparing to think of techniques to try to ladder, try to sneak in a pay-jump," Dvoress told reporters following his come-from-behind victory. "And then things turned around really quickly. I just feel really fortunate."

Watson, who eventually finished 5th in the PLO Main Event, also had a series to remember as he, like Dvoress, picked up two tournament wins in Montenegro.

A $659K win in the $30K Turbo event was followed by $381K more with victory in the $65K Turbo Bounty Quatro tourney, with Watson collecting another $585K for his deep run in the $100K PLO.

Also going deep in the PLO were the likes of Robert Cowen, Patrik Antonius and Manuel Stojanovic, who ran Dvoress closest for the title.

Antonius also made the final table of the $100K no-limit hold’em Main Event several days before, finishing in 7th for $595K. That tournament’s eventual winner, Danny Tang, collected $3.5M for triumphing over the 159-entry field.

The Triton Tour now makes way for the WSOP, as most eyes turn to events in Las Vegas, before returning for another Super High Roller Series in Jeju, Korea, from September 4.
