Chino Rheem emerged from the middle of the pack to seize the PokerGO Tour (PGT) PLO Series II title on Saturday. In a dramatic finish to the series, Rheem leap-frogged six players above him on the overall points leaderboard with a decisive victory in Event #10: $25,200 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship.
Rheem’s $510,000 first-place finish in Event #10, along with his six prior cashes, left him with more than enough points to claim the series title – beating out Bryce Yockey whose two wins saw him hold the top spot on the leaderboard before the final event. Rheem also became the first player in PGT history to win three series titles, adding the PGT PLO Series II title to his PGT Mixed Games titles in 2023 and 2025.
With 597 additional PGT points thanks to his performance across the series, Rheem now finds himself second on the PGT Player of the Year Leaderboard – behind only Alex Foxen.
While the PGT PLO Series II has drawn to a close, the four-card action will roll into next week. On Monday, the 2025 Super High Roller Bowl: $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha kicks off. The PLO iteration of the Super High Roller Bowl was introduced in 2023 and saw Jared Bleznick emerge as the event's first-ever victor. In 2024, Seth Davies took first place.
Rheem closes when it counts
Rheem entered the final table with the chip lead, but several factors – cards aside – had to go his way to secure the title. If either Joao Simao or Sam Soverel came out as the victor, they would take the series title and, if they failed to do so, Rheem needed to finish in second place or better to steal the PGT Gold Cup away from Yockey.
Rather than leave any doubt, Rheem went wire-to-wire with the chip lead – defeating Isaac Haxton in heads-up play to secure his crown.
