Leo Margets has vaulted up the leaderboard with 15 players left in the WSOP Main Event after a runner-runner flush sent Sergio Veloso to the rail on Sunday night. The big pot pushed Margets up to second on the leaderboard with a spot at the final table waiting for nine players at the end of the evening.
Moments after Lautaro Guerra folded to Luka Bojovic's five-bet with pocket kings, the camera craned over to the main feature table, where Veloso was all in against Margets.
Margets had and just a few big blinds left after covering Veloso's
. Just over 67 million was in the middle in the 500K/1M/1M level, and winner would move to second place on the leaderboard.
Veloso flops the lead
Veloso took the lead when the flop dropped with , sending a chill through the Margets supporters on the rail. The
, however, brought a dramatic flush sweat on the turn.
Margets turned around to face her rail for the climactic river card, which turned over as the , giving her the flush and a huge pot. Veloso gathered his things and stepped off the stage to the customary Main Event elimination applause, leaving Margets to process the shock and settle in for a long night of poker.
