The World Series of Poker has now published complete results for one of the headline online tourneys of the 2024 WSOP, Online Event #24, the $10,000 WSOP Online Championship Event. In this counterpart to the WSOP's live Main Event, California's Daniel Maor won his first-ever WSOP bracelet while collecting $330,263, which more than doubled his career WSOP earnings, now at $596,002. It's the second-largest live payday of Maor's live-poker career, behind only the $613,914 he won for taking down the BetMGM Poker Championship at the Aria in January.
This two-part tourney saw Maor close out the win over an eight-player final table that included several other noted pros, including Scott Seiver, Alexandros Theologis, Joseph Cheong, Christopher Moore, and Ben Lamb. Seiver's third-place run was his deepest showing in trying to become the first player to ever win four bracelets in a single WSOP series.
The online Main Event was also another of the hybrid online/live events that played down to a final table on the three-state (MI/NV/NJ) WSOP.com platform early last week, then adjourned to a final table held live at Horseshoe Las Vegas on Monday. After Seiver busted in third, Maor then closed out Oregon's Wayne Harmon for the win. Harmon's second-place showing was worth $235,360, while Seiver collected $182,214 for third.
The WSOP's online Main Event drew 134 total entrants and built a $1,279,700 prize pool. The top 24 finishers made the money.
Seiver's second near-miss still expanded POY lead
The online third-place finish came just days after Seiver finished sixth in Event #96 of the all-live portion of the 2024 WSOP, the $25,000 High Roller HORSE tourney. What would have been a record fourth win of the summer for Seiver -- and his eighth career gold bracelet as well -- still puts an exclamation point on one of the best series-long performances in WSOP history.
Seiver's third-place run was also his best online performance of the series, and it allowed him to expand his lead in the WSOP's 2024 Player of the Year race. With just a few events' results yet to be compiled, Seiver has widened his lead over his closest competitor, Michael Rocco, to more than 600 points.
