It’s not the World Series of Poker, but it’s definitely attracting a world of attention. Live poker returns to Europe in full force on Monday with the Deutsche Poker Tour making a stop at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Chech Republic. With a huge appetite for live poker around the world, the atmosphere at the premium casino is expected to be electric.
Poker players and enthusiasts from around the world are expected to make their way to Rozvadov in what’s commonly referred to as the gaming capital of the Czech Republic. Located near the border with Germany, the destination is popular among poker players from all over Europe.
And with relatively open EU borders, getting there during COVID-19 times is much easier than crossing other international borders.
Monday, July 27th marks the start of the Main Event, which is just one part of a packed schedule of live events taking place on the property. The first flight of the tournament gets underway at 7pm.
The first flight will be a turbo format featuring 20-minute levels. The tournament has a buy-in of €130 + 20 and features a guaranteed prize pool worth €200,000. This starting flight also features satellite events beginning at 4pm, in which players can work their way into Day 1A from as little as €30 + 5.
Experts agree that the €200,000 guaranteed prize pool number is expected to be eclipsed by leaps and bounds thanks to a live poker scene that’s been neutered for months by the pandemic. There are also as many as nine starting flights, giving poker players ample opportunity to choose from multiple Day 1 options or play multiple times.
The Deutsche Poker Tour isn’t the only major tournament under the spotlight next week. Americas Cardroom’s $7 Million Venom is now underway, with multiple Day 1 flights, $7 million guaranteed, and $1 million earmarked for first place.
