One of the biggest summer series on the East Coast gets underway Wednesday with the 12-day, 24-event Potomac Poker Open at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
The series features over $2,000,000 in guarantees, headlined by the $3,000 buy-in, $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event from August 22-25. The series also kicks off with a $750,000 Opener with five starting flights kicking off Wednesday at noon ET.
The schedule features something for everyone, including mixed games, a ladies' event, a super seniors tournament, several big field multi-flight events, and plenty of satellites to the marquee events. Two big winners last time out
In our last journey to MGM National Harbor in February, Seung Hyun Nam and Nolan Hanessian chopped the Winter Poker Open Main Event heads-up when the duo were virtually even, with Nam taking home $190,512 and the champion’s trophy, while Hanessian got $187,878 for his official placing as the runner-up.
That edition of the Potomac Poker Open’s showcase event drew 401 entries to build a $1,080,000 prize pool, which was distributed to the final 51 players, and another high-quality field of poker superstars is expected to turn out in Maryland for this one.
