Last time at Playground...
The Circuit’s last visit to Playground in spring was a massive success, with not only the poker room bursting at the seams, but the two tournament areas packed with players throughout the entire series.
It was highlighted by Adil Morkos’ Main Event triumph as he topped a field of 1,414 to win $306,000 and his first WSOP Circuit ring.
The series also saw some incredible stories, like the amazing 24 hours of Min Qiu, who finished sixth out of nearly 3,000 entries in the $300 Colossus before pulling a $10,000 bounty and then winning the $400 Mystery Bounty event the very next day.
Ruoxiao Shi’s run to the title and $80,000 in the Colossus after final tabling it the year before inspired this look back at great encore performances. Then after that, he went and final tabled the Main Event, finishing seventh for $47,500. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with for this series!
A venue like no other
Playground has become known worldwide as one of the premier poker locations anywhere, and has continued to grow since its opening in 2009. With its most recent massive expansion completed in December of 2023, the venue now boasts three floors of poker, electronic gaming, and world-class restaurants.
During a huge tournament series like the WSOP Circuit, Playground utilizes its two overflow poker areas to accommodate the massive demand, ensuring that players are seated quickly in not only those huge-field tournaments, but in the bustling cash game room, which features one of the largest bad beat jackpots in the world.
With an exceptionally player-friendly experience and an immaculately run venue, Playground was more than deserving of its recent accolade of being named GPI Best Poker Room of 2024.
