How should players prep for the WSOP this summer?
If you're looking to ramp up your game for the WSOP, get started at least a month in advance and focus on topics that come up the most often. Things like continuation betting versus the big blind, check-raising from the big blind, double-barreling turns versus the big blind, continuation betting in three-bet pots, and so on.
What events should players look out for?
I'm looking forward to the $3k buy-in events. I love that price point because it’s big enough to get some juicy prize pools, but small enough that quite a bit of lower stake players will still take a stab at them. So they just feel like a nice sweet spot for me. But I'll be playing everything from $1,500 to $25k no-limit events, and I’m really looking forward to the $25k heads-up as well!
What do you enjoy most about preparing your students for the WSOP?
The best part is when we all show up to Vegas, and I see them making deep runs or coming up to me on breaks, telling me they tried XYZ play they learned in our lessons and how it helped them pick up a lot of chips they otherwise would not have.
Since I started coaching three years ago, we have had multiple students making huge six-figure final tables in bracelet events and multiple top 100 finishes in the Main Event every single WSOP.
