Foxen leaps Mizrachi on PGT leaderboard after Poker Masters win

Alex Foxen jumped over Michael Mizrachi on this season's PokerGO Tour leaderboard with a win in Event #6 at the Poker Masters series in Las Vegas. 

Foxen also jumped into play on the Poker Masters leaderboard, where everyone is still chasing Mitchell Halverson for the Purple Jacket. The chase will get serious now with four more events this week and a $25K buy-in at the end.

Grinder steps aside

The win was good for $272,000 and 272 PGT points, enough to jump over Mizrachi at the top of the PGT leaderboard. Mizrachi had claimed the top spot after wins in the Poker Players Championship and the WSOP Main Event, while Foxen has three wins and 18 cashes on tour.

Poker Masters hits homestretch

Darren Elias and Chino Rheem also grabbed wins at Poker Masters this weekend, earning both spots in the top five in the Purple Jacket race. Halverson still leads after three cashes in the first six events, but David Coleman and Stephen Song aren't far behind. Coleman won the opening event and cashed one other time, while Song has four cashes and three final table finishes.

Poker Masters will continue on Monday with the final table of Event #7 at 1 pm Vegas time. Jared Hyman carries a big lead into the finale, but Cary Katz, Matthew McEwan, Masato Yokosawa, John Riordan, and Dan Sepiol are all giving chase. It all wraps up on Thursday with the final table of the $26,000 series finale.
