The brand-new 'Rise in Prague' promotion will add a golden twist to WSOP Europe's debut in the Czech capital over the Easter Holiday weekend, where eliminated players now have the chance to reach into a pool of magical eggs for an opportunity to re-enter the festival's flagship Main Event.
The weekend of Main Event festivities now comes with a holiday bonus round in what is a direct nod to Easter and its shared spot on the calendar with Sunday's Day 1C. For eliminated players who re-enter through the end of registration on Monday's Day 2, a magical egg hunt will offer the chance to 'rise' with the pull of a lucky Golden Egg.
WSOP Europe is gearing up for its debut in Prague from March 31-April 12 and the festival is headlined by the €5,300 Main Event starting on Friday, April 3. A few big names are already in the mix for the €10,000,000 prize pool, like a recently confirmed Phil Hellmuth, with a long line of European poker regulars and North American bracelet hunters lined up behind him. Now they'll all get to chase eggs for a shot at re-entry.
How the Golden Egg Hunt works
A large pool of what the WSOP calls "magical eggs" will sit in the tournament area all weekend. If you're eliminated and decide to re-enter, you'll be asked to reach into the pool and open of the magical eggs. The pool for each Day 1 flight will hold 10 Golden Eggs containing a lucky second (or third) chance worth €5,300.
A few important caveats:
- Only eliminated players who choose to re-enter before the end of late registration will have a crack at the pool of magical revival eggs.
- The Golden Eggs are non-transferable and must be used for the same flight taking place when the Golden Egg is pulled.
- Unpulled Golden Eggs will be carried over to the next day's magical egg pool through the end of registration on Day 2.
- There is no limit to the number of times a player can pull out a Golden Egg.
It's a quirky and somewhat unexpected promotion, but a fun way to add an extra €150,000 to the prize pool for what is expected to be a big debut in Prague.
