Nik ‘Airball’ Arcot and Sam ‘Senor Tilt’ Kiki played a fun pot on the Hustler Casino Live stream this week, which involved Arcot showing one of his hole cards while his opponent weighed up whether or not to call in a $181K pot.

However strong your actual hand, revealing a card heads-up with action still to come always ramps up the mind games to the next level. Did it work?

All-in on a double-paired board

The hand came about in a $100/200 game with a double straddle to $800, which Arcot had posted.

Ethan ‘Rampage’ Yau got out of the way quickly, before Kiki raised from the button to $3,300 holding . Pipi and Peter folded the action round to Arcot, who 3-bet to $15,500 with off a stack of close to $130K. Kiki, with almost $250K in front of him, made the call.

With $31K in the pot, the flop came , giving both players plenty of cause to stay interested. Kiki had top pair and 55% equity, and was quick to call Arcot’s bet of $15K — 50% of the pot.

The turn tipped the odds heavily in Arcot’s favor, as the brought home his spade flush. He didn’t know it, but Kiki was drawing only to a deuce or king for a full house; when Arcot cut out a bet of $22K, it didn’t take him long to call along.

Then came the river, the . Arcot bet his last $75,300 quickly into the pot of $105K, before casually sipping a drink and pointedly turning his back on his opponent to watch a nearby TV.

Airball was behind on the flop, but caught up quickly. Airball was behind on the flop, but caught up quickly.

‘That was a boss move!’

Airball looked relaxed when Kiki didn’t snap him off, but was he looking too relaxed? Was he trying too hard to look confident? That was evidently the question on Kiki’s mind as he went into the tank.

“What do you got, Mr Double-Straddle, re-pop pre?” asked Kiki.

“I raised $22K on the turn: I’ve got quads,” came the reply. “You know how on the app, they announce the hands? I was trying to announce ‘quads’.”

“It doesn’t feel like my king’s that good,” said Kiki.

Arcot agreed, shaking his head. “Doesn’t feel like it.”

“Did you spazz out with 4-5 or something?”

“I’m a super pro, bro, super bros don’t spazz.”

Kiki thought some more. Arcot turned back to the TV.

“You got the ace of spades?” asked Kiki.

Arcot checked his cards, before flipping the ace of spades face-up on the table and casually turning back to the TV.

“That’s so sick!” said Kiki, through peals of laughter. “Regardless of what happens this hand, that was a boss move!”

Eventually, Kiki realized his king was likely no good. “Alright, Airball, you get it.”

“Good fold,” said Arcot, and showed his remaining card.

“You made me want to call,” said Kiki, “which is why I should fold.”

There’s levels to this…
