The PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) stop in Malta has come to a close and while Tomasz Brzezinski made the headlines with his €631,632 first-place finish in the Main Event, PokerOrg's Hand of the Week comes courtesy of a blind versus blind clash between Tom-Aksel Bedell and Tom Vogelsang with 17 players remaining.

In an episode of his EPT Daily coverage, PokerStars Ambassador Benjamin 'Spraggy' Spragg described the hand – which can be found at the 9:50 mark in the video above – as "one of the most incredible suck outs you are ever likely to see."

Bedell gets it in with the worst of it

With the blinds at 10K/25K (25K) in the final level of the night on Day 4, Bedell raised to 60K from the small blind with before Vogelsang quickly came over the top with a three-bet to 240K with

"240?" Bedell asked the dealer. "Okay, bye bye then."

"You shouldn't have done that Tom, big mistake," he continued before firing in a four-bet to 560K. "I said you have to leave, I meant it."

Tom Vogelsang EPT Malta Tom Vogelsang had the best of it before the flop, but not all hands go as planned.

With only 1.4M in his stack to start the hand, Vogelsang sent the rest of his chips into the middle and Bedell immediately asked for a count.

"Count and bye bye," Bedell said.

With the accounting complete, he opted to call it off and told Vogelsang to "look at it as a present."

Kings cracked on brutal flop

"I need some hearts, that's true. And I believe in my hearts. My mom is thinking about me just now," Bedell told the table as the players awaited the runout.

Bedell's belief was rewarded as the dealer spread the flop to improve the Norwegian to the nut flush and leave Vogelsang drawing to a runner-runner miracle. As the table reacted to the board, Vogelsang took to his feet, chuckling as he did. Bedell took a moment to process what he was seeing – muttering "What happened?" to no one in particular – before sheepishly consoling his opponent.

"Tommy Tom, I was kidding," he said.

"Oh no, it's okay, it's okay," Vogelsang responded.

With the infusion of chips to his already-bloated stack, Bedell fought his way to the end of Day 4 before returning for the final table where he secured a €200,550 fifth-place finish.
