Phil Hellmuth was struggling to get anything going on the No Gamble, No Future livestream when he looked down at pocket queens.
The crew was in the middle of the standup game, where you can't sit down until you win. They're playing a special edition livestream on PokerGO all weekend, and this was the Thursday session with the Wheel of Pain and a lineup that includes the likes of Jennifer Tilly, Jimmy D, Abby Merk, Shaun Deeb, and Luiz 'Brazil God' Rizental.
The 17-time WSOP champ limped in with a $25 chip in the double-straddled $25/25/50/100 game and was raised to $600 by Randy '3Coin' Sadler two seats to his left, who had pocket tens.
A trap sprung, Hellmuth fired in a limped re-raise.
"Three coins," Hellmuth said, pushing out $3,000.
3Coin called and hit paydirt on a flop of .
Phil still standing
"Watch this," 3Coin said, taking off his sunglasses. "I'll tell you what, Phil. You've had a good run. You're legendary. But you're slipping. I'm all in."
Hellmuth snap-called for $1,750 more and saw the bad news. Everyone leaned forward for the blowup. Deeb did everything he could to push the Poker Brat over the edge.
"Do you have him beat?" Shaun asked, but he knew the answer.
The board finished up with and
, no good for Hellmuth in the $10K pot.
"How much are you buying in for, $25,000?," Deeb asked.
"No," Phil answered. "I have to make sure you guys are willing to just keep calling with eights and nines and tens."
Still standing, Hellmuth tossed another $5,000 on the table.
A few hands later, the Poker Brat looked down at pocket kings. Brazil God had raised to $100 with and Jimmy D three-bet to $500. Hellmuth, still standing up, made it $1,500.
Tilly likes eights
Tilly, who was on the straddle with , five-bet shoved $16,400 and things got serious. Brazil God was gone and Jimmy D hit the muck right behind him, setting up a runout between Hellmuth and Tilly that would put the former back in the black.
A sweaty flop hit with , but the board wrapped up with
and Phil was allowed to sit back down.
The game continues on this evening and there is more to come all weekend with a nightly No Gamble, No Future live through Sunday.
