Daniel Negreanu will make his long-awaited Hustler Casino Live debut on Friday, August 28.
The Los Angeles-based poker livestream announced the details today on social media, telling its audience the exciting news by way of an AI-generated video featuring Hustler Casino Live regulars as welcoming members of a chorus.
It's an interesting watch, to say the least – check it out below.
While information on the game is sparse for the time being, the stakes will be $100/$200 with a minimum buy-in of $50,000.
We don't yet know who will be joining Negreanu at the table – but the list of hopefuls is no doubt a long one.
Negreanu back in action
While the foundations of Negreanu's poker career were built in the cash game world, his focus eventually turned to tournament play. The allure of competitive glory and its accompanying trophies overcame any desire to battle purely for money.
In recent years, his appearances on livestreamed or televised cash games have been few and far between.
The last time we saw Negreanu battling for actual cash was in a 2023 run on PokerGO's No Gamble, No Future – and the session didn't go very well.
Across a three-episode stint, Negreanu's losses mounted to upwards of $300,000 – including a nail-in-the-coffin pot against Phil Hellmuth that you can watch below.
The GGPoker connection
In March of 2025, NSUS Group, the company at the helm of GGPoker and the WSOP, purchased an undisclosed stake in Hustler Casino Live production house High Stakes Poker Productions.
“I just think that the limits are endless for what we can do,” shared Ryan Feldman, co-owner of HSPP, in an interview with PokerOrg conducted at the time. “It's going to give us a chance to be more of a global company, to do more things in the live streaming space, to create some very cool partnerships, some business deals that they're going to help facilitate, and bring some players in that we otherwise wouldn't necessarily be able to get.”
And one of those players was GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu. In the wake of the purchase, speculation of a Negreanu appearance on Hustler Casino Live intensified.
The Canuck himself seemed open to the prospect of participating, saying at the time, “You rarely see me playing high-stakes poker on streams anymore, but this is going to get me out of retirement and returning to the felt, playing on the most epic cash game stream poker has ever seen.”
With the livestream's Million Dollar Game set to run just weeks later, audiences were hopeful that Negreanu might make a surprise appearance.
And then Alan Keating called him out directly on social media, putting the challenge out there for all to see.
In the end, Negreanu didn't play – citing his preference of pot-limit Omaha in a cash game setting while firing a few shots back at Keating.
Now, however, 'Kid Poker' is ready to get back into the action.
