Over the past year or so the Triton Poker brand has been taking steps to bring its tournaments within closer reach of the average player.
Initially known for its Super High Roller Series, the Triton ONE sub-brand launched a year ago to cater to more mid-stakes players unwilling or unable to pony up the huge amounts required to play those nosebleed games.
And now, with the Triton ONE North Cyprus stop just weeks away, organisers have announced a new way to play the $8K Main Event for free.
10 seats will be given away, and players won’t have to invest a penny to take a shot.
The only catch is that these will not be online tournaments but will run live at the venue for the upcoming series: The poker room at the Merit Casino & Resort in Cyprus.
The full Triton ONE Cyprus series runs November 5-15.
How it works
On Wednesday, November 4 the following three-stage satellite will take place.
- Stage 1 at 2pm will be a freeroll with $30 re-entries and an optional add-on.
Levels will be fast — 10-minutes during the late registration period and 6-minutes afterwards — with 20 seats to the subsequent Stage 2 tournament guaranteed. - Stage 2 at 4:30pm will guarantee 10 seats to Stage 3. The starting stack will be 10K and seats will be won at 70K.
Levels will run 15-minutes long and direct entry is available for those not winning their way in, at $200. - Stage 3 at 9pm will award at least 10 seats to the $8K Triton ONE Main Event, November 10-15.
Direct entry will be available for $1,300, and levels will run 20-minutes during the 9 levels of late registration, and 15-minutes afterwards. As with Stage 2, Stage 3 will be a milestone satellite: starting stacks will be 100K, with seats awarded at 700K.
Triton ONE Cyprus kicks off November 5 with the 3-day $3K QQPK Genesis event, with the Main Event running November 10-14.
Other highlights include a $5K NLH Mystery Bounty (Nov. 7-9), a $10K NLH 7-Max (Nov. 9-10) and a $15K High Roller (Nov. 13-15).
