Joey Ingram is back. The first Poker Life podcast in an age is going live on Monday and Joey is promising to bring the spice.
Talking on X ahead of the re-launch, Joey said: "I've been watching the poker world from a new perspective the past few years - lots of crazy shit going on out there and lots of great poker going down everywhere. It's a brand new world for poker content."
We reached out and asked him what fans can expect to see.
"I've been preparing for this for a couple of years"
PokerOrg:It’s great to have you and the Poker Life podcast back. Why now?
Joey Ingram: I've been preparing for this for a couple years. I’ve been waiting for a good time to get back into it, and right now it’s a better time than ever, with the World Series of Poker coming up in a few months. There's a lot happening, a lot I've been wanting to talk about. I've had a lot of time to reflect on what the hell I'm trying to do with my life.
The first one is on Monday with Doug Polk. If any poker players have been living under a rock and have never seen a Poker Life before, what can they expect?
JI: Poker Life used to be one of the best podcasts in poker, with all the high stakes players, with the people who really know what they're talking about when it comes to the poker world. I've had some of the best players on and some of the worst players on, some investigations. You know, a little bit of everything, right? How to live the poker life, some strategy, you're going to get some insight into what's really happening in the poker world. I've been paying attention to this since I was 21 years old, so you're going to get a very unique insight from me and my guests.
What can we expect on the agenda?
JI: The ever-changing fabric of reality that is the poker world. When it comes to the high stakes online cash games, when it comes to what's happening with some of these online poker sites, some of the actions they've been taking are maybe not in the favor of the players. We’ve got a new poker boom right before us and, you know, once the poker boom gets here, everything's going to start to change. There are a lot of important issues out there going on with the online poker game, with the ability for players to win with the size of rake. I’ve got an opinion about a lot of these things.
"I'm going kamikaze mode"
Is it going to be a regular show?
JI: Yeah, I'm going to be doing regular content. Hopefully me and Doug will have a regular show. I’ve got everybody lined up to come on my show. Guys like Eric Persson, Phil Galfond, Daniel Negreanu, Alan Keating, Brad Owen, guys who I would call the biggest ambassadors. Then guys who are building the events behind the scenes, like Adam Pliska from WPT, Jack Effell from WSOP, the guys over at Triton. I’ve got a bunch of different ideas and we're going to see what happens. I'm going kamikaze mode – no rhyme or reason for some of the things I'm going to be doing, we’re just going to see what happens.
What else can we expect from you in the near future?
JI: I've got a lot of content lined up. I'm going to be revealing some of my partnerships relating to my investments. I've got some very sick promotions coming out with some of the companies that I'm going to be working with. I’m basically lining up the best quality products and services on the training side, on the gameplay side, on the memorabilia side, on the accessory side, that I could find in the poker world. We’re going to take all of that into the real world with more events and more experiences. At the end of the day, my goal is to conquer this game of business, to help everybody around me in my community, help my friends, help my family, and we're going to see if I can pull that off.
Thanks Joey, good luck with it all and we can't wait for the new show.
Joey's brand new Poker Life podcast goes live at 1pm ET on Monday, March 4 (ignore the time on the tweet below). Don't miss it.
