Phil Hellmuth is obviously too busy winning bracelets to shop or cook. In a truly mind-blowing stat, it's been revealed that he’s used the food and grocery delivery service DoorDash an incredible 4,529 times.
Hellmuth also revealed that his wife has her own DoorDash account, and he suspects that puts the couple at over 5,000 orders.
When asked for the most obscure item he’s ordered, Hellmuth replied, “I’ve had toilet paper delivered once or twice, or toothpaste.”
High-stakes player Chalie Hook is another DoorDash power user but falls well short of Hellmuth with 1,677 orders – although that’s in just three years.
Hellmuth has been using DoorDash since it launched in 2013. His 4,529 orders mean he’s averaged more than one order per day for 12 years straight. That’s hard to comprehend, especially given that Hellmuth travels frequently for poker and other business interests, and estimates he’s away 37% of the time.
By contrast, DoorDash co-founder Stanley Tang has only used his own company 1,659 times, and we presume he gets mate’s rates.
Is Hellmuth the number one DoorDash user worldwide?
Perhaps we all need to get with the times. Hellmuth ran a poll on X asking fans how many times they thought he’d used DoorDash – and the overwhelming vote was for over 4,000.
There's still one question that still hasn't been answered accurately, though – how much has Hellmuth actually spent on DoorDash? Based on average order and delivery data, the estimate is a staggering $168,000.
No wonder Tang’s smiling.
When he's not revealing how often his poker-playing friends are using his company, you'll find Tang on shows like High Stakes Poker. With a net worth estimated at $2.2 billion, you can watch how a billionaire plays poker below.
